Give a treasure hunt advent calendar to your loved one this Christmas

Elfvent brings it back, for grown-ups. Hide 25 real presents around the home of someone you love, and let a cheeky pair of elves leave them a clue behind every door.

How it works

1. Hide a present. One or two at a time, the night before, so nothing gets found early.

2. Film 10 seconds and snap a photo. Add three quick Elf's Eye snaps that only the elves see.

3. The elves do the rest. They sneak into your video, write a riddle and hints, and pick the music.

4. Send the code. Each morning from 1 December, a new door opens on their phone.

The treasure hunt

Watch the clue, read the riddle and go hunting. Stuck? Ask for a hint, or play Hot and Cold: point the camera around and the elves tell you when you're getting warmer… hot… BOILING! Find it, and the elves show you exactly where they hid it. You can make it as easy or as tricky as you like with the videos and photo clues you add: a wide shot for a quick find, or a sneaky close-up for a real challenge. The elves set their riddles and hints to match.
